Bras, Knickers and Stockings
A fitting conclusion: Moira Mitchell bares her bottom for a good, smart spanking over her land-lord's knee. See this post for further details.
Inside cover to Blushes no. 30, February 1987. Blushes sometimes used images of this nature to whet their readers' appetites for "schoolgirl" spanking stories.
Young Moira Mitchell takes a domestic position on an isolated British island, never realizing (until far too late) that her new employer has other plans for her. After moving in, Moira is forced to play a game of penalties which she can't possibly win.
Every time she loses, she must either remove an article of clothing - or go over her landlord's knee for a good, smart spanking. Needless to say, her options become severely limited once she's stripped all the way down to her knickers and stockings...
Yes, the rumors are true: Ridley Scott started out directing TV commercials for Dim Lingerie in 1977. Lasting barely 40 seconds from start to finish, "Le Serveur" became one of the most influential campaigns in advertising history due to its exquisite visuals, subtle lighting and understated sense of humor. Viewed in retrospect, we can infer the reason behind Sigourney Weaver's gratuitous striptease at the end of Alien two years later.
More chaos ensues when the girls chase after the driver, demanding the return of their clothing (along with their dignity, one supposes), ably assisted by the local constable and various other aggrieved parties:
According to Wikipedia and other sources, the original manga was highly controversial for its time (mainly due to its breaking of innumerable social taboos), though by 1970, the furor seemed to have died down to a dull roar. The film was successful enough to warrant three sequels, all of which employed the same basic formula.
Not exactly the cancan, but counted amongst our all-time favorites nonetheless. Once again, we've used deep AI to give these exceptional pieces a new lease of life:
A few more saucy postcards from the vault. Sorry, had to truncate this first one due to the left side of the image being a little "scrambled" during the scanning process; hoping to find a more complete version in the near future:
Next, a sentiment I suspect we can all agree with (guess it must run in the family):
Not sure if this one technically qualifies as the cancan, but the girls'

British comics at their finest - John M. Burns' Eartha (News of the World, 1982). A recognized veteran whose credits ranged from Modesty Blaise to Judge Dredd, Burns was a master of the female form, never hesitating to kit out his frequently reluctant heroines in stockings and garters whenever the opportunity arose.
A slightly 'risque' look at the lighter side of ice skating by commercial artist J. Fredrick Smith; not explicitly cancan on ice, but about as close as we're likely to get in a 50s family journal. Saw this many years ago in an Advertising textbook, recall being vaguely surprised by both the pose and the flashed panties...
Then again, ice skating has always been the perfect excuse to reveal knickers and thighs, even in venues where they might least be expected...
A recreation of Film Fun (February, 1936) featuring Enoch Bolles' famous cancan girl:
Yes, Norman Pett's Jane returns in this stock edition published by Rylee just two years after the war. The 41-page pamphlet includes photos, articles, sketches and a hand-colored strip rarely seen outside the UK. Oh, and page sixteen features this unexpected little gem:

Would you be willing to undergo this radical and potentially dangerous new treatment? Are you prepared to sacrifice your masculinity for an irreversible cure? Could you adjust to your lush, sensuous new body if they threw in a few million dollars compensation?
Wow, what a stupid question.
Yes, that's right: as of 13 August, 2022, we've reached a grand total of 200,285 views - and the numbers continue to rise! Even more unbelievable: according to our stats, we scored more than 100,000 views within the last twelve months alone!
What does all this mean? OK, let's try to put it into some kind of perspective. We established this blog waaaay back in May 2010, mainly as a database for lingerie scenes on film and TV. Following a couple of false starts, we bumbled along with a few hundred visits per month for the first eleven years (more or less the average for a niche blog like this), then suddenly our ratings shot through the ceiling.
What happened? None of us know for sure. The change came directly out of left field, catching all of us by surprise. We noticed a huge influx from Europe (particularly France) as well as a steady climb in Canada and the US, but we've yet to figure out how the digital landscape changed in such a short span of time. On the other hand, we have a few clues with might point us in the right direction.
First, there's Benny Hill. Benny has always been a perennial favorite on this site, with this post amassing 5047 views on its own. Seems that there's still a huge audience out there, thirty years after the great man's passing, and it's no secret that Benny's "silent comedies" appeal to a vast demographic on both sides of the Atlantic. Just goes to prove that some forms of humor transcend language and cultural barriers (especially when there are bras, knickers and beautiful young women involved). At present, we have no less than thirteen articles devoted to Benny's girls, and people simply can't get enough.
Another contributing factor might be diversity. Variety being the spice of life, we wanted to explore visual media of every conceivable form: film and TV, comics and cartoons, manga and anime; literally anything we could find in the uncharted corners of the Web (how did we ever survive without the internet?).
